Overview

The equestrian infrastructure at Dead Horse Ranch is extensive, versatile, and purpose-built to support a wide range of horsemanship disciplines, livestock operations, and ranch events. Spanning over 60,000 square feet of covered structures plus additional outdoor training space, the facilities offer both practical functionality and professional-grade design.

At the core is the 31,250-square-foot Indoor Arena, a steel-framed, professional-grade structure designed for year-round use. It features full lighting, plumbing stub-outs, a viewing balcony, and a concrete slab floor. A tack room and future-ready heating infrastructure add to its functionality, making it an ideal venue for clinics, daily riding, and equestrian training regardless of weather conditions.

Complementing the indoor arena is a dedicated Outdoor Arena, perfect for open-air riding and groundwork. This additional space enhances flexibility for training routines, competitive practice, or large-scale clinics during New Mexico’s temperate seasons.

Supporting operations nearby is the Hay and Equipment Barn, a 9,362-square-foot enclosed facility built with a steel frame and insulated metal siding. It houses separate zones for hay storage and slow-draft stall areas, with amenities such as fluorescent lighting and an overhead water reel system to streamline daily operations.

The Old Barn provides 3,298 square feet of mixed-use space, including six horse stalls and an upper-level one-bedroom apartment. Constructed with masonry block and wood framing, this structure combines practical stall space with private quarters for staff or visiting guests.

For larger herds or rotational livestock housing, the ranch includes 88 Boarding Stalls, divided across three open-air, steel-framed shelters. These covered pens feature metal roofing and are designed for maximum herd capacity with minimal utility requirements, making them ideal for overflow, quarantine, or seasonal livestock management.

Together, these facilities establish Dead Horse Ranch as a premier working and training environment – capable of supporting everything from elite horsemanship clinics to day-to-day ranch care on a grand scale.
